Summary/Abstract: The article describes the participation of the Polish Army in anti-ice and anti-flood operations in the years 1945-1949. The sapper troops had the greatest share in these activities, protecting the most important bridges on Polish rivers every year during the winter. Sappers also destroyed ice jams and helped the civilian population in the event of a flood. The sappers made a positive contribution to the history of the Polish Army by actively participating in the largest anti-ice and anti-flood operation at the time, at the beginning of 1947. The article discusses the participation of sappers in these actions, showing the great effort of these soldiers in combating natural disasters.
