Summary/Abstract: The article presents the general characteristics and legal regulation of the compensation due to a civil servant in the Ministry of Internal Affairs upon termination of employment. Introductory attention is paid to the general characteristics of the concept of "compensation", according to the general theoretical understanding of it, and its essence is presented in relation to civil servants performing civil service in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The texts of regulations in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in which legal norms differentiating the different types of employees in the main structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, are described. The category of civil servants with a priority legal status under a special law on the civil service in the Ministry of the Interior, who have the right to compensation upon termination of the employment relationship, has been defined. The texts of provisions in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and by-laws on its implementation are presented in chronological order, in which legal norms regulating the rights and obligations of the state and the civil servant in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, upon termination of the official relationship and the procedure for determining and paying compensation are presented. In the conclusion, conclusions and summaries of what was presented in the circumstantial part of the article, on the subject under consideration, are presented in a synthesized form.
