Summary/Abstract: Departing from a doctoral thesis that deals in detail with questions of stylistics at a theoretical and applied level (with concerns and examples of German language and literature), the current article combines the author’s concerns for this research area with her didactic work in the field of LSP. More precisely, the article focuses on how the metaphor is found in the teaching of specialized vocabulary and more specifically in authentic resources used in class. Considering the vocabulary as the backbone of the didactics of specialized languages (by the need for students to be initiated especially in the professional terminology in the studied language), the current article connects medical metaphor with a series of recent methodologies in the didactic sphere, announcing problems and proposing didactic solutions to make the LSP teaching-learning process more efficient.
