Summary/Abstract: The concept of a longer City LHV/LZV-class city combination is almost completely unknown in Poland, mainly due to the legal impossibility of introducing such a vehicle on our roads. Nevertheless, these vehicles – as clearly demonstratedin the case of the Netherlands – can contribute to a significant improvement in the competitiveness of heavy goods distribution in cities. The aim of this article is to indicate the organizational, time, economic and ecological benefits related to im- plementing the City LHV/LZV combinations. The thesis is that if the law allows the above and some operators can guarantee the profitability of this solution, which results from the need to secure an appropriate mass of goods for distribution in a given area (city/agglomeration) at a given time, then this proposal shows full implementation sense. This article is based on analyzing source information mainly from Dutch government institutions, research institutes, transport operators, produ- cers of appropriate transport equipment and logistics operators. In addition, there are the author’s own conclusions and thoughts resulting from the analysis of this tool in the city’s supply chain system.
