Summary/Abstract: Knowledge and intellectual capital, regarded as knowledge with the capacity for transforming into value, play a particular role in a network organisation. They are both a trigger to establish a network organisation and a result of its functioning. Skilful knowledge and intellectual capital management can conduce to the growth of competitiveness of a network organisation. Due to the specific character of a network organisation, knowledge management and intellectual capital management should be carried out simultaneously at two levels: the level of the entire network and the level of a single link of the network. A knowledge management model should comprise: the identification of the applied knowledge management strategy, a description of the knowledge exchange process, and a measurement of the level of the process formalisation and centralisation.
