Summary/Abstract: In the paper chosen theories, conceptions and models connected with using nonstandard forms of employment have been reviewed. Literature studies have made it possible to draw conclusions regarding directions of changes in using nonstandard forms of employment. The main problems undertaken by the researchers have also been pointed out. The diagnosis of the state of knowledge in the analyzed area has become the premise for the attempt of choosing the research method recommended for empirical research in human resources management in the conditions of nonstandard employment.
