Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to draw attention to the possibilities of forming morphological awareness as an element of metalinguistic consciousness, which plays an important role in perception and linguistic production in teaching/learning Polish as a foreign language. The author undertakes a theoretical reflection on the approaches to morphology, the problems of the methodology of teaching morphological issues in the context of the relationship between inflection and vocabulary, and presents proposals for practical teaching solutions, which are the result of her experience of working with students for whom Chinese is the first language. She uses the method of literature analysis and criticism, the method of analysis and logical construction, as well as the method of individual cases based on the analysis of a separate didactic process to achieve her goal. The considerations made contribute to further research on the methodology of teaching grammar and vocabulary within the framework of Polish language glottodidactics, taking into account the language of the first learner.
