Summary/Abstract: The volume signed by Mircea A. Diaconu, Cernăuți. Obiecte pierdute (Chernivtsi.Lost objects) consists of the reproduction of one hundred and sixty-five short articles from the press of the years 1923-1926 in Chernivtsi. The informative content, extremely diverse, is not structured on specific themes, but strictly follows the chronological criterion.Reading the volume, the receiver is left with the surprising impression of turning the pages of some chapters of an extremely vivid social novel, whose realism and – from today's perspective – exoticism does not hide the evidence of a professional conjurer behind the selection of these one hundred and sixtyfive unknown life spans.Mircea A. Diaconu knew very well what and how to insert between the covers of his volume to open a window to a world that was once, that we have forgotten, that we would not have imagined to have been like this andwhich, probably, would not exist at all in the absence of the evocation of these lost objects. The reenactment is not only a cleverly staged scientific endeavor, but also a tacit declaration of love.
