Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present the role of a kindergarten teacher in the development of social competences of a pre-school child in the opinion of teachers teaching in eight kindergartens in the Łask district. The theoretical part of the article describes how a competent teacher, by their behaviour and through the use of appropriate teaching and upbringing methods, can influence children to facilitate their best development.
