Summary/Abstract: The school failure effect is and will be a growing problem met by a teacher in his or her work. School failure is a complex problem, with far-reaching consequences for the life of the individual and society. The etiology of this effect indicates that the causes of failure in learning may be inherent in the child, in his or her domestic situation and in the pedagogical process which is realised by the teacher. The teacher is often the only person whose pedagogical knowledge enables providing assistance to the child experiencing academic failures. The article is an attempt to reflect on the pedagogical practice concerning the activities of teachers in preventing and overcoming educational failures, particularly in terms of their effectiveness.
