Summary/Abstract: Reflection on artistry and sensitivity to beauty are one of the essential elements of education both on primary and secondary school level. Contemporary aestheticians are increasingly looking for inspiration among thinkers who grew up in non-European ethical systems and worked in other cultures and religions. Furthermore, contemporary graphic design, interior architecture or metropolitan spaces find inspiration in African or Japanese culture and aesthetics. A deeper reflection on certain Japanese aesthetic categories leads to the conclusion that similar ideas are found in European culture and tradition. Such a statement should be a challenge for teachers teaching art, Polish language, biology or visual arts.
