Summary/Abstract: In the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Fojnica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, amongst the written works of the bishop Augustin Miletić OFM (1813 – 1831), vicarius of the Apostolic Vicariate in Ottoman Bosnia, the original of the description of the canonical visitation to the Catholic parishes of the Bosnian Posavina is preserved. It was written by bishop Miletić himself. Although it comprises only four and a half sheets of paper, (28 cm x 10 cm), it’s essential not only for demonstrating the poor condition of the Catholics, i. e. Catholic parishes in the Bosnian Posavina part of the Bosnian Eyalet, but also for the language used by bishop Miletić and Bosnian Franciscans, costumes bishop adhered to during his canonical visitations to the Vicariate he administered, names of places and regions he passed through etc.
