Summary/Abstract: Television series, due to their social reach and high impact, are one of the most important phenomena in contemporary culture. This article focuses on neoseries, also known as new generation series, which, despite the fact that they grew out of older television genres, often radically break with this heritage. In this work, neoseries are analyzed as cultural texts embedded in the context. The study used the perspective of Critical Discourse Studies (CDS), as well as the tools developed within the Discursive Historical Approach (DHA) and Critical Studies on Men and Masculinities (CSMM). The main aim of the paper is to describe and analyze the most important strategies used in the creation of neoseries male protagonists, as well as the interpretation of these strategies in the context of socio-cultural and genre changes.
