Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of the analysis of press, blog, church and parliamentary (sub)discourses constituting Polish public discourse on non-heterosexual relationships. The objective of the analysis is to describe principal discursive strategies employed in creating the image of families of choice. The collected research material in the form of 196 press articles, 76 blog posts (entries), 55 official texts of the Catholic Church and opinions of clergymen as well as 8 transcripts of parliamentary debates were analyzed with the computer program MAXQDA11. For the purposes of the research a matrix of the code tree was developed, which took into consideration proposals of discourse-historical approach in the critical discourse analysis (principal methodological assumptions of Ruth Wodak and Martin Reisigl). In the texts a clear division between supporters and opponents of the institutionalization of homosexual relationships in Poland is visible. It is important to note that the discourses are quite schematic and the dynamics of the changes in picturing same-sex relationships over the years 2003–2013 is different in particular discourses. The most considerable changes, for example the appearance of inclusive definitions of family (embracing also homosexual relationships), may be observed in the press and blog discourses. The church discourse turned out to be the most conservative and homophobic, in it a relationship of the people of the same sex has not been defined as a family even once. Interestingly enough, in the parliamentary discourse in 2013 homophobic positions were more visible than during Senate debates in 2004.
