Summary/Abstract: Any organisation, and the Police in particular, needs to adapt to ever-changing external conditions and internalchallenges in order to be effective. The Polish Police have undergone numerous organisational changes since 1989, movingaway from a highly centralised to a mixed model. The authors of this article present the assumptions of an effective model forimplementing change in the Polish Police, developed on the basis of the conducted research. In addition, they point to the needto establish and maintain a high-level information system to ensure the information flow within the organisation
