Summary/Abstract: In recent years, there has been a sharp increase in interest in social ethics in everyday life. This is especially evident in the political and economic trends that increasingly recognize the need to care for the preservation of planet Earth, but also care for the quality and improvement of the lives of individuals and communities. Responsibility for this should be taken by all instances of society - from individuals to supranational communities. Christianity as a religion reveals the foundations for such action already in the Bible, but it especially develops this thought in official teaching through the Church's social teaching. Despite the long existence of the Church's social teaching, even today this speech is unknown in society. Therefore, the paper actualizes this speech through the presentation of the concept of responsibility and the understanding of social responsibility offered by Christianity, starting from the Old Testament speech (demand), through the New Testament - Christ's speech and the demand for the need for ethics and morality in everyday life and action, and up to the demands that are before us sets out the social teaching of the Church, the Second Vatican Council and the contemporary speech of the Church.
