THE THEME OF LOVE - FROM MYTHICAL REVELATION TO THE POEM COUPLE, BY ANA BLANDIANA

Summary/Abstract: To analyze a lyrical text from a mythological perspective, especially if the intentions of the analysis are of a pedagogical nature, referring here to a future use of this type of approach in Romanian literature classes, especially at the high school, pre-university level, but also at the university level, it would be necessary to put in a clear context the need to approach a literary text from a mythological perspective. This kind of approach is important especially when the poem starts from an important myth of humanity, such as that of love, the myth actually becoming the key to deciphering poetic meanings, the starting point of any literary analysis starting from the analysis of the myth itself, its meanings and even its history, in order to get to the way in which the poet used this myth, he used meanings and symbols to express his own feelings, ideas, attitudes, often offering new meanings and nuances, deepened by a strong emotional charge. For all these reasons, knowing the myth from which the author starts in the construction of the literary text or from which he borrows meanings and symbolism, it’s a very important thing that gives you a key to understand and decipher the literary text. This is also the case of the poem „Couple”, in which the Romanian poet Ana Blandiana starts from the myth of the androgynous to express lyrically the forms and nuances of love, of the eternal couple, of the transformations, struggles and intense experiences through which lovers live their love, but also the way in which love transforms their world, rebuilding their inner and outer universe.
