Summary/Abstract: The Romanian historical community in Hungary has managed, especially in the last 50-60 years, to develop several generations of intellectuals who have contributed to preserving and promoting the Romanian identity of the community, especially through ethnological, folklore, historical, linguistic or religious research. Ethnological research, especially through fieldwork carried out in all localities with Romanian population, but also the ethnography camps, have led to the preservation of all important elements related to Romanian traditions, customs or folklore in research volumes and journals of ethnography, folklore and culture studies, a very important achievement, especially given that today almost all these customs, rituals or popular texts have disappeared, along with the way of life of traditional society. One of the most important Romanian researchers, ethnographer and folklorists in Hungary, who combined his research career with an exceptional journalism, was Alexandru Hoțopan.
