Summary/Abstract: The Romanian-language audiovisual media in Hungary played a very important role in the life of the Romanian community here, being a representative agent of the community in all its power, getting involved in its cultural and social life and being a mirror of the Romanian community life in Hungary, in the post-war period. Romanian-language radio and television broadcasts within the Hungarian Radio and Television have been, since its establishment during the communist era, basic pillars in preserving the Romanian identity, the community being described and mirrored by the events, news, cultural activities presented here, in religious manifestations or in events related to the Romanian school, in portraits and interviews with prominent personalities of the community. The Romanian journalists did a very important fieldwork, always in direct contact with the community, radio and television broadcasts being, especially during the communist period, the main sources of information for the members of the Romanian community in Hungary.
