Summary/Abstract: Ioana Postelnicu, author formed in the beneficial atmosphere of Sburătorul Literary Circle bequeathed almost her entire personal library when she decided to spend her last years with her family. After a literary career of six decades, the writer retired in 1998 in Bacău to her daughter. Before that, she donated about 600 volumes to the “Astra” Library in Sibiu. Most of the donated books bear autographs, dedications or annotations of contemporary writers. Some of them are addressed both to her and to her last husband, Mircea Ionescu, who was the chief accountant of the Patriarchate. Dedications and autographs, precious fragments of a tumultuous cultural existence, of course, also reveal aspects of private life. Some of the texts, although well preserved, are not easy to read, being scaled by time.
