Summary/Abstract: This study refers to Ioana Postelnicu’s “identity literature”. The picturesque descriptions of the world of Vlachs not only represent an evocation of the author’s native place but also a page of important historical events that should not be forgotten. The novels of the trilogy, namely: The Vlashins’ departure, The returning of the Vlashins and The descendants of the Vlashins are “document novels” preserving the value of a real heritage. The first two novels deal with the conflict that resides in the incompatibility and violent clash of the “civilization” represented by the neighboring city and the archaic world of the Vlachs whilst the last one, The descendants of the Vlachins brings to the fore the descendants of the brave Alexa Banu and Branga.
