Summary/Abstract: The subject of this paper is the phenomenon of echolalia occurring in the speech of a patient with neurogenic-psychiatric disorders. The aim of the study was to investigate the echolalic utterances of the research participant after surgery for a tumour of the left cerebral hemisphere in 2011 and subsequent tumour recurrences. A paranoid syndrome the patient was diagnosed with occurred in 1985. The author analysed echolalic behaviour on the basis of a set of 100 echolalic utterances obtained by observing the subject in his close surroundings. The paper includes theoretical aspects of echolalia and its determinants. The discussion of my research results includes, among other things, the specification of the evocative stimuli that trigger echolalia, its functions, and the sources of the evoked content.
