Summary/Abstract: The emergency remote education during the Covid-19 pandemic has become a meaningful experience for educational institutions and, most of all, for many people directly or indirectly related to education. The article attempts to look at these experiences from the point of view of university students. The theoretical context of the research was the idea of transformative learning introduced by J. Mezirow. According to the article’s author, the created new conditions of education could fulfil the features of a disorienting dilemma. The conducted pilot research was aimed at determining whether students who had to adapt to the new conditions of education and life saw symptoms of changes in their mental habits. The results showed that, on average, every third students notices changes they call reinforcement in 8 of the 16 mental habits they mention. This indicates that many students have initiated the process of transforming their learning. This potential may constitute the basis for taking actions in higher education to support the initiated changes. The prepared project was a comparative study and was carried out in groups of Polish and Lithuanian students.
