Summary/Abstract: This study aims to analyse the legal regime of one of the most sensitive and profound fundamental freedoms, the freedom of religious belief. We say this because it influences not only the life of each individual, but also the life of communities, of the peoples of the world and, without any exaggeration, over time it has influenced the life of an important part of the world, of more extensive or more restricted regions. The Constitution regulates this in Article 29, and the constituent rules are further developed by the Law No 489/2006 on freedom of religion and the general system of religions. We will analyse the legal regime of this freedom in the light of the constitutional and legal provisions, highlighting the elements that make it different from other freedoms.
