Summary/Abstract: The short stories that define the 60's from the writer's creation and belong to the exile stage are published in the volume „Sfârșit de exil”. The volume covers a wide range of artistic means, starting with parabolic prose, in a fantastic projection, as in the narratives „Ultima revoluție” or „Pedeapsa Sfântului Martin”, continues with historical reconstructions that develops an anhistorical vision, as in the short stories „Nu pe dinăuntru” or „Castelana de la Carcerelle”, followed by the autobiographical memorial reality in „Recviem în trei pentru un oraș dispărut”, followed by the strong experience in the sphere of symbolism, which foreshadows a not too distant future, as in „Ultimul Popescu” sau „Claviceps purpurea”. On a deeper analysis, all the writings in this volume convey a feeling of dramatic oppression and capture the tragic transformation of the human condition during the period of totalitarianism.
