The Mediator-Role of Search for Meaning in Life and Resilience in the Effect of Intolerance of Uncertainty on Academicians' Life-Satisfaction

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to examine the mediating role of resilience and search for meaning in life in the effect of intolerance of uncertainty on the life satisfaction of academicians. To this end, the relational survey model was used to determine the relationships between the variables. The online form prepared by the researchers was shared on various social media platforms and 257 academicians were reached. The mean age of the participants is 38.93. The data in the study were collected by using the demographic information form, the Satisfaction with Life Scale, the Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale (IUS-12), the Brief Resilience Scale (BRS) and the Meaning in Life Questionnaire. In the analysis of the data, in addition to descriptive statistics, Pearson Correlation Coefficient, Mediated Structural Model with Implicit Variables and Bootstrap Analysis were used to determine the relationship between variables. According to the results of the research, it is seen that the partially mediation role of resilience and search for meaning in life in the effect of intolerance of uncertainty on the life satisfaction of academicians is statistically significant.
