Summary/Abstract: In this research we aim at accounting for several aspects of South Danubian dialects' lexis. For this purpose, we systematised both archaic lexical aspects inherited from Latin or the substratum and lexical elements that penetrated the speech of people from the South Danubian area through loans, as a result of their contact with other languages and civilisations.
