Summary/Abstract: The verbal language characterizes human communication and is customized by the expression of each speaker. Also, the free use of words is intertwined with repetitive speech sequences through which the locator refers to the idiomatic tradition and adds more authority to his own discourse. Repeated speech can also be related to the intertextuality studied by Bahtin and to the polyphonic theory. Repeated speech units have an important role to play in the meaning of the literary text analyzed and contribute to the evocation of a dark world. Most of the texts present in the opera are taken from the idiomatic repertoire of the Romanian language and of the popular culture, making direct reference to the fabulous universe of its fairy tale or to the biblical-religious domain.
