Summary/Abstract: The research “The Youth in the Mist”, concerning the state of the young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, represents the views, expectations and positions of the young people, as it deals with various segments of their everyday lives, in regards to particular socio-demographic traits. The aim of the research is to analyse the positions and opinions of the young, and their relation to their free time, confidence and the value system, as well as to their relationship with family and friends. The target group is comprised of the young people living in Bosnia and Herzegovina, who have access to the internet, age group 15 to 35, with the upper threshold of the ‘youth’ being moved in order to incorporate more young people, due to the prolonged-youth phenomenon, being evident within the B&H society. The presented data has been collected via the survey technique and with the self-administered instrument of an (online) questionnaire. The research results indicate that young people have clear visions and ideas of life, albeit they are confined by challenges dealing with the quality and perceived standard of living. The society of equal opportunities can be characterised as a phrase which dominates every wish-segment of the youth and the cause-and-effect flight-relation away from the B&H reality.
