Summary/Abstract: At the end of the First World War, through tough times, the Romanian army played an important role in accomplishing the unification between the Romanian territoriesfrom Austria-Hungary and Romania. In the short term, a necessary collaboration was created between the Romanian army in Transylvania under the command of general Mosoiu Traian and the Governing Council led by Iuliu Maniu. The Transylvanian military regiments were put under the control of the Romanian army in Transylvania. The Romanian population of Transylvania enthusiastically welcomed the Romanian army that ensured the establishment of the Romanian administration by stopping the Hungarian and Ukrainian resistance attempts. The Romanian troops’ advance was initially made down to the demarcation line agreed set by the allies. Considering the attacks and provocations by crossing the demarcation line, but also the hostile attitude towards the Romanian army, additional soldiers from The Old Kingdom as well as from Transylvania joined the troops. The Romanian national guard proved itself to be useful, but insufficient to keep the situation under control. The supervision area was entrusted to the regiments from Transylvania, to maintain the order in particular, while the operation area was entrusted to the Romanian army in Transylvania, who will go on the offensive on April 1919, due to the violation of the ceasefire by the Hungarians, thus arriving at the Tisza. In Banat, the Romanian troops retrieved the territories from the French troops.
