Summary/Abstract: The creation of the sacred space within the framework of modern relations between nature and man, resulting from the relationship of traditional folklore knowledge to the world that surrounds it, represents an initial moment in the analysis of the cult of sacred trees in the geographical area Skopska Crna Gora. The purpose of this paper is to compare the current state of tree cult practice in this area with the recorded sources on this topic of the 20th century Macedonian folkloristics. Special emphasis is placed on the phenomenon of the “Pregnant Tree”, a newly created cult space that has not been studied in the scientific literature so far, the fertility rituals associated with it and the analysis of data obtained from field research.
