Summary/Abstract: The body of an average person releases about 0.5–1g of odor molecules every day, which is about 2.0∙1021 molecules. In other words, a person constantly and uncontrollably emits molecules of his skin odor at a rate of 2.0∙1016 molecules per second, and this fact can of course be used in forensics, because human odor contains a lot of information about the individual who produces this odor. Currently, this scent trail is used by law enforcement agencies only with the help of specially trained dogs as part of the so-called forensic olfactory comparison. Detailed chemical analysis of human odor, forensic olfactronics, in principle allows for individual identification as well as wide possibilities in the field of group identification, but in the research field this is still being evaluated worldwide
