Summary/Abstract: Today's Europe is far from being a Europe of stereotypes, of boring uniformity, but it is considered to be an interesting mosaic of nations, traditions and cultures that constructively interfere every day. In our opinion, cultural diversity is at home in a Europe „of nations", where everyone fights more or less visibly to maintain their own state and cultural identity, thus militating for „diversity in unity". This article will focus on the presentation of the inherent problems related to the ethnic and cultural rights of minorities in various European states and the legislative ways through which various national or European authorities make serious efforts to respect them.
