Summary/Abstract: Social Institute of the Czechoslovak Republic was a leading expert board in the interwar period closely connected to the Ministry of Social Care. Its activities were concentrated on commenting bills, social research, and popular lectures. In its heyday the institute had more than two hundred members. About eighty volumes and monographs on social affairs were published by the institute. Its journal „Sociální revue“ partly compensated the lack of Czech and Slovak social scientific journals.
