Theoretical problems of realism and idealism in politics (or interests and values in politics)

Summary/Abstract: In the study, an overview was made of the different interpretations of political realism and political idealism from the point of view of defining the importance of values and interests in politics. The main arguments in the theoretical dispute "interests versus values" are systematized and the author's position in the debate is proposed. The specifics of national interests and their theoretical interpretation in the scientific literature are examined.
