The Royal Icon of Jesus Christ Pantocrator from the Annunciation Church (din Groapă) in Sibiu. Notes during the Restauration

Summary/Abstract: The study focuses in particular on the importance of the research activity on the artistic components of historical monuments. This documentation represents the fundament of practical restoration processes. The purpose of restoring the royal icon was to conserve its original state, which was brought by the research about the original painting, attributed to Dimitrie Dimitriu, and placing it in a bigger context, that aims to preserve as much as possible the originality of the family Hagi Constantin Pop foundation.
