Summary/Abstract: In the final pages of his book, The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, Thomas Kuhn sketches an analogy between the development of scientific knowledge and the way biological evolution takes place. The most important common element is their non-teleological character, i.e., the absence of an ultimate goal in both processes. In this article, I have tried to answer the question of whether this analogy provides sufficient grounds for considering Kuhn’s conception to be an evolutionary epistemology. After reviewing the arguments formulated in this context, I have come to the conclusion that everything depends on how this analogy is considered. If we proceed cum grano salis, interpreting it in a more relaxed manner, then I believe that there are sufficient reasons to give the question an affirmative answer.
