Summary/Abstract: The study analyzes the linguistic landscape of Transcarpathia in the historical context of the First and Second Czechoslovak Republics. By analyzing a few historical photos and documents, the changes in the political and linguistic relations of the region are examined and language dominance is explored. We show that qualitative analysis can provide useful information on the different situations of languages and their speakers in the community.
