Summary/Abstract: This article discusses one of the most important communitarian critiques against liberalism: the criticism against the thesis of the primacy of justice, as it was developed by Michael Sandel in Liberalism and the Limits of Justice. Sandel argued that this liberal thesis is false, in reality justice being a limited social virtue. In his opinion, solidarity and not justice, is the primary virtue of a society. After a brief overview outlining the thesis of the primacy of justice and the main arguments advanced by Sandel against it, I am trying to show that these arguments fail to achieve the objective for which they have been developed.
