Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to illustrate the use of cultural content through project work. We present the most important approaches to the didactics of German culture and civilization and focus on the distinctive features of the concept “erlebbare Landeskunde”, which is learner-centred, task- and project-based. Task-based learning is a principle of modern didactics whose main goal is to involve learners in the learning process through action, perception, research, and cooperation. Compared to traditional teaching methods, where the focus lies on the end result, action-oriented methods focus much more on the learning process. Project-based learning is a complex process that needs careful planning and implementation, and we explore its main aspects. We document the evolution, features, and phases of project-based learning and present a project proposal, through which we intend to bring Romanian students together with German-speaking students and we explain why such cooperation could bring mutual benefits even in times of crisis.
