Summary/Abstract: The piece that is the subject of the study is a borten, an object of ceremonial use. It is specific to the Transylvanian Saxon community and dates from the mid-20th century. The piece has a cylindrical shape and is made of black velvet. Due to wear and tear, the piece has suffered multiple degradations and restoration interventions are absolutely necessary. The piece has undergone cleaning, moisturising and emollient treatments as well as reinforcements of the silk inside, the ribbons and the metal tatting.
