Summary/Abstract: The notion of the audiovisuality of literature inscribes itself in the debate onintermediality that has evolved over many years. Influential propositions by WernerWolf, Jens Schröter or Steven Paul Scher have fostered very concrete models basedon which it is possible to study individual relationships between literature and othertypes of artistic expression. Similarly, Regiewicz proposes a description in relationto audiovisuality and its influence on emerging literature. Drawing on AndrzejHejmej’s work, which focuses on the musicality of literature, Regiewicz constructsan analogous classification that encompasses phenomena such as the thematisationof audiovisuality in literature, the use of audiovisual schemes and techniques in theconstruction of literary works, the activation of the audiovisual code within a literarymessage, the ways in which the language of literary expression mirrors the languageof the audiovisual, the creation of genres and styles of literary expression that arerelated to the audiovisual.
