ENGLISH IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBALIZATION

Summary/Abstract: Globalization is an expanded concept of nowadays and refers to integration and interdependence of economic, social, cultural, technological, political and ecologic spheres across local activities. English is the language of the whole world today and the globalization process gave it more power and influence upon the other languages. In central Europe, as in much of the world, knowledge of English has become a basic skill of modern life comparable with the ability to drive a car or use a personal computer.
