Summary/Abstract: This paper addresses a linguistic discourse analysis of the compounds with the word constituent Plagiat, which were used with different frequency used in the German plagiarism discourse in the period from 2011 to 2013 in the context of the plagiarism affairs of former German ministers Guttenberg and Schavan. The corpus for this analysis consists of press articles that were published on sueddeutsche.de, zeit.de and spiegel.de concerning the two affairs in the above-mentioned period. The aim of this paper is to identify the different functions of the discourse-relevant compounds with Plagiat that occur in the corpus on the basis of their word formation and semantic structure. The final result of this analysis will show the extent to which compounds can be considered as elements, which help in revealing a better understanding of relations within discourse and its structure.
