Summary/Abstract: This article tried to answer the question of how the parents’ divorce may affect the functioning of a child diagnosed with Asperger syndrome. Based on literature, the first part of the article introduced the issues of ASD, then focused on the difficulties faced by the families raising children with autism spectrum disorder and discussed how the situation of divorce and parental conflict affects the development and upbringing of the child. The next part presented the case of a 10-year-old boy with Asperger syndrome and brought to light the most important areas of physical, mental and social development. Current family situation was discussed, educational attitudes were presented and the difficulties faced by the described family were shown. Then, an analysis was made of how the crisis of parents’ relationship results in destabilization of the immediate educational environmental.
