Summary/Abstract: In this article I present the results of empirical research on the use of new information technologies by children and adolescents, participation in remote activities during the COVID-19 pandemic, media competences of young users and the dangers of excessive media use. The survey was conducted among 60 parents of preschool children and 225 parents of primary school students in Wrocław, as well as teachers and psychologists. In this study, a combination of two methods was used: the quantitative and qualitative methods, and the dominant elements were: a diagnostic survey and qualitative methods.
