Legitimate expectation, arising from the unilateral assumption of a civil obligation

Summary/Abstract: The current article examines the insufficiently studied in the Bulgarian legal literature topic of the legitimate expectation, focusing on the question whether the latter can arise from the unilateral assumption of a civil obligation (pollicitatio). The predominant view regarding the content of the legitimate expectation is discussed and a proposal for its broadening is made. The subject of the protection of the legitimate expectation, arising from the pollicitatio, is briefly touched.
