Summary/Abstract: This book presents Romania’s political doctrines and history of the last 100 years in the social, geopolitical and economic context. The main concepts analysed in this book refer to political philosophies, doctrines, ideologies and policies, describing in a contrasting, compara tive manner their specific characteristics from one period to another. The fundamental contrast is made between democracy and totalitarianism (fascism, communism), between capitalism and command economy. The authors emphasise the capital importance of political parties in the social and political leadership mechanism.
