Summary/Abstract: Pippo Delbono is the author of a theatrical vision which aims to totality. His performances summarize some unique styles of representation, they are performances which have the mobility of life, searching for complex elements inside his own being, expressed in the most profound and simple terms. The favourite topics deal with schizophrenia, homosexuality, with characters having Down syndrome, building an universal symbol of gestures, and the essential moments of one’s existence. Life and death are treated in terms of normality. The performer offers and exposes himself totally, his body permits to be „seen from within”. He avoids the artificial formula of the theatre which creates masks, a theatre who forbids the possibility of looking at the human essence of the performer. Pippo Delbono rebuilds a theatre of truth and emotions, through a lucid way of exploring reality and the most traumatizing, irreversible experiences of life.
