Summary/Abstract: In this conference, Professor George Banu discusses how the certain spirit of times can influence theatre and performing arts. One of the most important idea he focuses on is that the concept of ‘novelty’ is constantly changing and transforming, ending up in a common place that will be a cliché on stage. George Banu is constantly referring to famous theatre directors, set designers and also actors in order to prove that the spirit of times is constantly influencing the performing arts. He concludes by stating that the direct connection with the spirit of time is a problem that refers to the artists’ age, biography and personal dedication.
